The Christ Redeemer and the Flower of Life

Christ Redeemer (1931) Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This statue of Jesus stands some 38 meters tall, atop the Corcovado mountain overlooking Rio de Janeiro. Designed by Brazilian Heitor da Silva Costa and created by French sculptor Paul Landowski, it is one of the world’s best-known monuments. The statue took five years to construct and was inaugurated on October 12, 1931. It has become a symbol of the city and of the warmth of the Brazilian people, who receive visitors with open arms

The Flower of Life is a geometrical figure composed of multiple evenly-spaced, overlapping circles, that are arranged so that they form a flower-like pattern with a sixfold symmetry like a hexagon. The center of each circle is on the circumference of six surrounding circles of the same diameter.

The Flower of Life symbol is over six thousand years old. Throughout human history, philosophers, artists, and architects around the world have known this symbol for its perfect form, proportion, and harmony.
